Project DescriptionThe Northwest Passage Project is a research and cultural expedition through the northwest passage of the Canadian arctic archipelago (CAA), aboard Swedish icebreaker research vessel I/B Oden, in which we aimed to understand how this region is changing as a result of climate change, with the aim of further spreading awareness about the severity and global effects of these changes

Research ObjectivesMy personal research goals in this project is to determine how the presence of terrestrial and sympagic (ice) organic matter is influencing productivity and greenhouse gas flux in this region
1. Characterize surface water isoscape of Oxygen , Carbon, and Nitrogen within the CAA 2. Quantify atmospheric carbon isotopes in carbon dioxide and methane 3. Assess how oceanic and atmospheric isotopes reveal biogeochemical cycling within the CAA. |
